The highly rated social trivia game Trivie has recently received another update, just a couple of weeks after its previous update. I make mention of Trivie's previous update because it apparently removed a popular feature that, fortunately, the new update has just restored. As I reported earlier this month, Trivie got its first anniversary update, which brought improved game creation and highlighted a few of its new Spotlight games. As it turned out, though, that update removed Random Trivie, prompting a dissatisfied Trivie player to reply to my post about the update with the following comment:
From what I can see, there is no longer an option for free random category games. The new version is confusing and keeps deducting tokens even if I'm not starting a new game but just checking out the categories. Very, very disappointed in the new version and the seeming money grab by the developers to remove the free random category games. We would be happy to spend coins for a randomized game but I can't even find that option! If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. The good news is that Random Trivie is back by popular demand through Trivie's new update. The slightly bad news is that Random Trivie is no longer free. Rather, it now costs 25 coins to start a Random Trivie game. Well, I guess that's better than Random Trivie's not being there at all. The new version of Trivie is available now in the App Store for free. The game is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 or later. The newly updated game also introduces the ability to nudge or remind your partners to take their turn when they fall behind. As well, it now lets you start games with people who aren't yet playing Trivie by inviting them to download the game. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
