Viber Messaging App Updated With Doodling Feature, 'Seen' Status Indicator And More
August 1, 2013
Viber, one of the most popular cross-platform messaging apps, has just received another significant update on iOS.
Perhaps the most notable addition brought about by the new update to Viber, which brings the app to version 3.1, is a new doodling feature similar to that of Cubie Messenger's. In the new version of Viber, you can now doodle or paint over a blank canvas or a photo and share your so-called works of art with your friends.
The latest update to Viber also adds a "Seen" status that, like the "Read" status in iMessage, indicates when each message has been seen or read. If you don't like to send your "Seen" status to your friends, you can toggle the "Send seen Status" option off in the app's settings option.
Also included in Viber 3.1 are new emoticons, message performance improvements, bug fixes, and localizations for the following languages: Croatian, Norwegian, Romanian, Slovak, and Ukrainian.

Viber 3.1 is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 4.3 or later.
The newly updated app also brings improved support for the Viber Desktop application for Mac and PC, which is available to download for free directly from the Viber website.
Launched early last May alongside Viber 3.0, Viber Desktop lets you send text messages and make voice and video calls right from your desktop computer. Transferring of live calls is also enabled between Viber Desktop and Viber for iOS.
