Kik Messenger Adds Support For Stickers And New Games By Zynga And TreSensa
July 31, 2013
Stickers and games are big drawers and even earners for some of the most popular chat apps today, most notably for Line and KakaoTalk. Small wonder, then, that the latest update to Kik Messenger happens to add support for stickers and more games.
Initially, Kik offers three sticker packs. One is the free Memes pack, which lets you "send all the memes!" Each of the other two packs costs $1.99 and is based on a popular animated series: South Park, which contains "your favorite characters all the way from South Park, CO," and Adventure Time, which is "totally mathematical!"
You can install any of the sticker packs by tapping the shop icon (which appears to have been inspired by Path's) in the emoticon panel within a chatroom.
As for the new games, you can find them in the More tab. The new games include 1 Word, a 4 Pics 1 Word-like game developed by Zynga, and Happy Tree Friends - Run and Bun, a cartoony endless flying game developed by TreSensa.
Also including some performance improvements and the option to talk to new users without adding them to your contacts, the new version of Kik Messenger is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 4.3 or later.
Kik Messenger is included in AppAdvice's Instant Messaging Apps AppGuide.
