BBM For iOS Gets First Update, Fixes Font-Related Bug On iOS 7.0.3

October 24, 2013
The long-awaited (and long-overdue) iOS version of BlackBerry Messenger aka BBM has just received its first update, just a couple of days after its release. Officially announced back in May, BBM was originally scheduled to be released last summer. Indeed, just before the summer ended, the app had begun its global rollout. But BlackBerry decided to pull the app following a leak of the BBM app for Android, which apparently messed up BBM's system. Then, a couple of days ago, BBM for iOS finally became available in the App Store for good. And now, it has already received its first ever update. The update adds contact categories as well as list sorting and filtering in BBM Groups. In addition, it brings some performance improvements and bug fixes. As it turns out, the bug fixes include a fix for a font-related bug that causes crashes and other issues in BBM on iOS 7.0.3, which was released by Apple yesterday. The new version of BBM is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone running iOS 6.0 or later.
