The Walking Dead: The Game Season 2 Gets New Trailer, Set To Launch 'Later This Year'

October 30, 2013
Developer Telltale Games has revealed a few details concerning the forthcoming second season of The Walking Dead: The Game, as well as posting a teaser trailer for the sequel online. First up, we know the game is now definitely coming, though his had been hinted at in a recent Twitter update published from Telltale's account. We also know that the new title is going to be branded as "Season Two," however as of this writing we're unsure whether this means we'll be seeing a brand new app released, or just additional content for the preexisting application. As per the game's first season, The Walking Dead: The Game's second season looks impressive. More specifically, though, IGN found out that in Season Two, Clementine is going to be available as a playable character, which is an interesting turn of events. An unnamed Telltale spokesperson reportedly told IGN that the second season of The Walking Dead: The Game "will continue the story of Clementine, a young girl orphaned at the outset of the undead apocalypse, now left to her own devices to seek safety and survive in a world gone mad." The developer continues: "Now assuming the role of an ordinary child, players will struggle to outwit both the dead and the living in situations that will test their morals and control the flow of the story through their decisions and actions." Furthermore, besides Apple's iOS, the new title will be available for Microsoft Windows, OS X, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, "with additional platforms to be announced." Telltale chief executive officer Dan Connors said:
The terrifying nature of Robert Kirkman’s world has allowed Telltale to push the boundaries of interactive drama in video games to a place that has had fans anxious to know what will happen next in this series. Today we can finally lift the veil, albeit only a little, on how this story will continue, and we’ll soon be putting players in the shoes of a lead role that will challenge their expectations of how to survive in a world where no one can be trusted.
Below, we've embedded the aforementioned trailer. Though Telltale notes that the second season of The Walking Dead: The Game will be available to download "later this year," no concrete release date has been confirmed. We'll keep you posted on this front.
