Popular case maker ZAGG has published images of an iPad 5-compatible keyboard case online, showing off a fifth-generation iPad mockup that appears to feature a thinner iPad mini-style bezel.
Though the Web page has since been pulled, 9to5Mac shares the images of ZAGG's iPad 5 offerings in the above screenshot. As you can see, the backlit keyboard cases - which will be available in both black and white - accommodate the anticipated iDevice's thinner bezel.
As the website indeed explains:
While this case does not provide any breakthrough details about Apple’s new iPad, it does demonstrate that case makers expect that the iPad 5 will look just like the several leaks over the course of last many months. Most reports circulating online indicate that Apple's fifth-generation iPad will borrow from the form factor of the 7.9-inch iPad mini, and will offer users an iDevice with a thinner bezel and smaller overall surface area. That being said, the iPad 5 will nevertheless maintain a 9.7-inch screen. As such, case makers must alter their designs for the iPad 5, since its dimensions differ from the previous versions of Apple's larger tablet. Apple is holding a media event on Oct. 22, at which it's expected to announce its iPad 5, iPad mini, a refreshed MacBook Pro, and the launch dates for its Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks. One recent report claimed that the new iPads will reach Apple Store shelves before the end of October. We'll keep you updated with further information as we receive it.
