Angry Birds Go! Soft-Launches In New Zealand App Store Ahead Of Dec. 11 Release
November 27, 2013
A couple of weeks ahead of its worldwide release on Dec. 11, Angry Birds Go! has just been soft-launched by Rovio in the New Zealand App Store.
First announced last June, Angry Birds Go! is the latest title in the hugely popular video game franchise featuring the titular feathered fiends and their porky archenemies. But unlike its physics-based puzzler predecessors, Angry Birds Go! is essentially a kart racer:
Welcome to downhill racing on Piggy Island! Feel the rush as you fling those freewheeling birds and piggies down the track at breakneck speed – with plenty of twists and turns in a thrilling race to the finish line! But beware! Look out for hazardous roads, mischievous opponents riding your tail and special powers to put the race leader behind the pack. Plus, go from soapbox car to supercar by upgrading your ride! It also lets you play with different racetracks, game modes, special powers, and vehicle upgrades. Moreover, the game features integration with Hasbro's Telepods, allowing you to teleport your favorite characters into the race using special Angry Birds Go! Telepods figures. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, Angry Birds Go! is available now in the New Zealand App Store for free. It's scheduled to be released in the rest of the App Store world on Dec. 11. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
