Apple Updates Its Apple Support Website, Adds A More Minimalistic Design

December 13, 2013

Apple has altered the appearance of its Apple Support website, adding a flat, white, more minimalistic design that's more in line with the changes made some months ago to the Cupertino, Calif. company's mobile operating system, iOS 7.

The updated website can be viewed online and as you can see, it places particular emphasis on product icons and critical information. Under the headline “Welcome to Apple Support,” the Web page notes:

Learn about Apple products, view online manuals, get the latest downloads, and more. Connect with other Apple users, or get service, support, and professional advice from Apple.

Below, icons for Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod, Apple TV, iCloud, Apple ID, iTunes, AirPort + Wi-Fi, OS X, iOS Apps, Mac Apps, Pro Apps, Server + Enterprise, and AppleCare are listed across two pages; touching an icon then takes users over to the appropriate section of the Apple Support website (these pages remain the same as before), as you can see in the below image.

The change was first spotted by 9to5Mac, which explains: “In the old layout, customers would have to click through to ‘All Products’ to get help about more obscure products. With the new design, the infinitely scrolling carousel puts everything on the portal homepage. It is also much clearer where to find the Apple communities and access phone support as other aspects of support have been removed completely from the page.”

Do you find the updated Apple Support website easier to navigate?

Of late, Apple has been encouraging Mac and iDevice users to troubleshoot problems using its online service, in an attempt to free up space at its popular Apple Store Genius Bars; a number of further updates enhancing screen sharing and adding 24/7 chat support have also reached Apple Support.
