Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock Gains M7 Support, Integrated Heart Rate Monitor And More

The popular sleeping aid and alarm clock app Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock has just been updated with a couple of new major features along with several notable improvements.
First off, there's Sleep Cycle's newly added support for the M7 motion coprocessor. Compatible with iPhone 5s, this automatically measures your daily physical activity and determines how it affects your sleep quality.
The other major feature introduced by the latest update to Sleep Cycle is an integrated heart rate monitor. Available on devices running iOS 6.0 or later, this measures your resting heart rate when you wake up by using your device's camera and flash to analyze the color changes on the tip of your finger.
The measured heart rate can then be used by Sleep Cycle to avoid overtraining and to track the results of your basic training and overall health. Of course, the app's integrated hear rate monitor is not meant to replace an actual heart rate monitor, and users with health concerns are still advised to consult a physician.
The latest update to Sleep Cycle also adds support for time zones, which may prove useful to frequent international travelers. As a result, the app now automatically, but not retroactively, adapts graphs to the local time zone.
