Apple: 80 Percent Of Devices Are Running iOS 7

January 27, 2014
So much for anyone not liking iOS 7. Less than four months after its official introduction, Apple posted some interesting statistics on its developer support center page. During a recent seven-day period in the App Store, 80 percent of devices were running iOS 7. Seventeen percent of users were running some version of iOS 6. Only 3 percent are using an earlier version of iOS. The last report, which was released back in late December, showed 78 percent of devices running iOS 7. So it looks like the latest and greatest Apple software is definitely making some nice strides in adoption. It probably won’t take long until 90 percent of devices are running iOS 7. But by then, I’m sure we’ll be hearing about iOS 8. So the cycle will continue. Hopefully Tim Cook will mention more specific numbers during Apple’s earnings call, which will kick off a little later this afternoon.
