Cydia Tweak: Bring A Live Weather Icon To Your iOS 7-Powered iDevice
Apple added a live Clock app icon in iOS 7, so why not a live Weather icon? Thanks to one new jailbreak tweak called LiveWeatherIcon, it’s now indeed possible to have the built-in Weather app icon reflect realtime weather conditions on an iOS 7-powered iDevice.
The jailbreak tweak is developed by Hamza Sood (@hamzasood), creator of the popular SiriToggles package which we first told you about just under two years ago. Rather than enhancing Siri, however, Sood’s latest addition to the Cydia Store aims to improve the built-in Weather app.
For $1.00, jailbreakers can use LiveWeatherIcon to add a live icon to the Weather application, which will update in the background and reflect weather conditions in realtime.
Much like the application itself, an animation and a piece of text will describe the present weather conditions, and a numerical temperature reading will also be displayed. As such, LiveWeatherIcon provides more detailed at-a-glance weather information for jailbroken iDevice users.
You can download LiveWeatherIcon in the Cydia Store for $1.00; it requires iOS 7 and is optimized for ARM64-iDevices.
As a reminder, some of our favorite recent additions to the Cydia Store have enabled support for unauthorized Lightning cables, have offered a replacement for the Messages app, and have allowed jailbreakers to delete packages just like regular iOS apps. It’s a great time to be a jailbreaker, thanks to the release of evasi0n7 and Cydia Substrate’s subsequent update for 64-bit iDevices.
