P0sixspwn For iOS 6.1.3-5 Now Available For All The Windows Users Out There

January 4, 2014
The folks behind p0sixspwn, the untethered jailbreak solution for iDevices running iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 6.1.5, have now launched a new iteration of the software for computers powered by Microsoft’s Windows operating system. You can download p0sixspwn 1.0.4 for Windows, as well as p0sixspwn 1.0.2 for Mac, online at the software’s dedicated website. The jailbreak solution allows users who haven’t updated to iOS 7 to jailbreak their iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch; it promises compatibility with iOS 6.1.3–5, and the software first reached OS X users back on Dec. 30. Since, hackers @iH8sn0w, @winocm, and @SquiffyPwn have been hard at work improving the jailbreak tweak, and released an update for the Mac software addressing iMessage and 4G LTE problems while also adding support for the second-generation Apple TV. The news comes, however, at a time when most of us are jailbreaking our iDevices under iOS 7, using the evad3rs’ recently released evasi0n7 jailbreak solution. Developers have been scrambling to update their apps for iOS 7 and to recompile them for ARM64-iDevices, and a number of jailbreak developers have even been working on dedicated jailbreak tweaks for Apple’s Touch ID-equipped iPhone 5s (such as Virtual Home). That being said, not everyone is looking to make the leap to iOS 7 just yet. After all, it’s long been possible to get the software update’s best features on jailbroken iDevices using a selection of free and paid apps and tweaks. Plus, the iOS 7 color scheme isn’t everyone’s idea of a nice redesign. If you haven’t taken the plunge, p0sixspwn can be downloaded for both OS X and Windows free of charge. Below, we’ve included a video walkthrough that explains how users can jailbreak under iOS 6.1.3–5.
