ReadMore App Set To Enter New Chapter Under New Owner And Developer

More things are in store for ReadMore, the popular reading journal and tracking app for iOS. And this is thanks to the app's new owner and developer.
Released in the App Store nearly four years ago, ReadMore was created by Jonathan Penn at Navel Labs. The app was last updated in a major capacity back in November 2012.
As it turns out, Penn has since moved on to other endeavors, which have diverted his attention away from the development of ReadMore. He notes in a new blog post:
As you’ve noticed, ReadMore sits quietly and hasn’t been updated in a while. I built it and supported it by myself these past three years. As I chose to focus on other ventures, development slowed to a halt. It started as a side project and sold well for a while, but I wasn’t sure how to turn it into a sustainable product that could support further work on it. With iOS 7 growing quickly in market share, many of you requested a fresh look and new features. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a good plan to move forward ... yet.If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Enter: Penn's pals over at Designing Interactive aka DI, who have acquired ReadMore and taken over the development of the app. As luck would have it, some of the members of DI were part of ReadMore's early design development and beta testing, so users of the app can rest assured knowing that it's still under good management. Thanks to Apple's seamless app transfer process, users need not do anything with regard to ReadMore's being under new ownership. ReadMore is now listed in the App Store as being developed by DI, and all future updates will now come automatically from DI. So, what does DI intend to do with ReadMore? "For now, the application will continue to work as it does today," says the DI team in a new blog post. "We will assume the customer support responsibility and will ensure it continues to operate smoothly." Of course, DI plans to redesign the app to make it look and feel right at home on iOS 7. It also plans to revamp the app's business model in the future. ReadMore is available in the App Store for $2.99. It's optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.1 or later. Personally, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for iCloud sync and iPad support to be added to ReadMore soon. ReadMore is one of my favorite apps of all time on iOS. In fact, it's part of my quartet of favorite reading apps on my iPhone's home screen, along with Reeder, Readability, and Readmill. As a longtime user of the app, I'm glad to know that it's in good hands and that it's set to feature more good things for people like me who strive to read more. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
