Warning: This New Badland-esque Puzzle Platformer May Induce Vertigoo
January 16, 2014
At first glance, the newly released Vertigoo is little more than a ripoff of the award-winning puzzle platformer Badland, with a main character that looks like the Black Swordsman from the popular action RPG Reaper. But there may be more than meets the eye to Vertigoo.
Vertigo has the following backstory:
There are dark days ahead. MotherGoo was pregnant and just exploded all over the universe. You need to search the nearby planets for her flesh and entrails. If you collect enough, you might be able to rebuild MotherGoo.That explains the "goo" part in Vertigoo. But what about the association with vertigo? If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Well, as it turns out, Vertigoo is played by manipulating the game's gravity. In each of the game's 40 regular levels and bonus levels, you have to swipe to spin the game world around and lead the newborn blobs to safety and collect all of the mother parts unscathed. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, Vertigoo is available now in the App Store for free. The free download already includes all game content. It offers no in-app purchases, but it shows ads every now and then. Vertigoo is developed by SinSquid, the same studio behind the "hardcore" platformers Black Metal Man and Die for Metal.
