You Win Or You Die ... Award-Winning Game Of Thrones Ascent Is Coming Soon To iOS
January 11, 2014
Game of Thrones Ascent is coming ... to mobile, that is.
Released on the Facebook platform in February last year, Game of Thrones Ascent is a strategic role-playing game hailed as a Facebook Staff Favorite of 2013. The game is developed by Disruptor Beam as an adaptation of George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" fantasy novel series and the HBO TV series "Game of Thrones."
Given the success of the game on Facebook and other supported sites, Disruptor Beam has revealed in an interview with Gamezebo that it has prepared "a pretty long roadmap of things" for Game of Thrones Ascent.
"One of those things is to bring the game to mobile players," reports Gamezebo. "Though Disruptor Beam is happy with Facebook and its other online partners, it also understands the importance of having its products available to play through as many channels as possible."
To that end, Game of Thrones Ascent is set to be released on both iOS and Android "in the near future." Of course, the upcoming mobile version of the game will be able to link with the original Facebook version for cross-platform game syncing.
Disruptor Beam isn't the only high-profile developer working on an official "Game of Thrones" mobile game set for release soon. Last month, Telltale Games, the studio behind the acclaimed Walking Dead: The Game and the recently released The Wolf Among Us, announced that it would launch an episodic "Game of Thrones" adventure game this year.
