Cydia Tweak: How To Auto-Silence Your iPhone During Meetings, Events
One recent addition to the Cydia Store – iSilent-iOS7 – adds a degree of smart, automated functionality to iOS 7-powered iDevices. After it’s been downloaded and installed, the jailbreak tweak can have your iPhone automatically switch over to Silent Mode during specific Calendar app events, meaning your handset will never ring out in the middle of a meeting, appointment, lecture, or exam ever again.
After installing the package, users will find that a new preferences pane has been added to the built-in Settings app: here, you can enable or disable iSilent-iOS7 outright, and you can configure how the jailbreak tweak interacts with your handset’s Calendar application, too.
It’s possible, for example, to select which calendars iSilent-iOS7 takes its cues from – this way, you can have the jailbreak tweak silence your iPhone in relation to your professional calendar, if you often have to attend meetings.
Students, on the other hand, could set the package up with their school or examination timetable. This feature also allows users to not have iSilent-iOS7 silence an iPhone during events like birthdays, parties, or other social gatherings.
Though iSilent-iOS7 can be downloaded in the Cydia Store free of charge, users will need to purchase a license after seven days, and this will set you back $2.99. It’s optimized for iOS 7, and is compatible with ARM64-iDevices such as the iPhone 5s.
Over the course of the past few weeks, a handful of other interesting jailbreak tweaks have made an appearance in the Cydia Store. Included in this selection is App Activate Pro, JellyLock7, and Gesture Music Controls. One other package of particular interest is Flex 2, which allows jailbreakers to create their own jailbreak tweaks from within a dedicated application.
