'Vine Meets MTV' Video-Sharing App Mindie Updated With New Features Plus Improvements

February 17, 2014

The musically inclined video-sharing app Mindie has just received a major update.

Released in October last year, Mindie is an app that lets you share looping videos of up to seven seconds each — one second more than the nominal leader in the video-sharing app space, Vine.

But the slight increase in the duration of a shared video is not the main differentiator of Mindie. Rather, it's that Mindie lets you record your video with music by picking a song for its soundtrack. What you end up with then is essentially a looping music video, aka a “mindie,” that you can share with your friends. Vine meets MTV, if you will.

As mentioned, Mindie has just been issued a major update. This update introduces several new features along with other enhancements for better mindie-making:

  • Choose your favorite part in the song!
  • Slow-motion (only for iPhone 5s)
  • Fast-motion for Time-lapse
  • Remind: Remake your friends music video
  • Better Video quality
  • Faster Video upload
  • New Featured users
  • Performance improvements
  • Critical Bug fixes

The new version of Mindie is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later.
