BitTorrent Sync For iOS Updated With UI Redesign And Other Improvements

March 26, 2014
BitTorrent Sync for iOS has just received a major update. BitTorrent Sync is a personal file-syncing app that runs on the popular BitTorrent peer-to-peer file-sharing protocol. As such, the app doesn't support downloading of torrent files from an iOS device. Rather, it primarily supports on-the-go sharing and syncing of files. Released last August for iPhone and iPod touch, BitTorrent Sync was updated with universal support for iPad last November, along with a new design for iOS 7 and other improvements. In December, it was further updated with passcode lock protection and some fixes. Now, the app has been updated with additional UI design tweaks plus the following enhancements:
  • Enhanced privacy with passcode lock for all locales
  • Share your sync folders via email, QR code or other apps from folder preferences
  • Tap and hold a downloaded file to see ‘Open in…’ options
  • Filter your files by all vs. only downloaded
  • Easily clear saved files from the app memory
  • Various improvements and fixes
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, BitTorrent Sync is available in the App Store for free.
