Badger, the jailbreak tweak that promises to enhance iOS notifications, has just launched for iOS 7. The release means jailbreakers can now bring app-specific notifications to their iOS 7-powered device for $1.49.
The jailbreak tweak indeed offers users lists of iOS notifications which are specific to individual apps. Rather than having to muddle through Notification Center in order to check on and clear notifications for Twitter, Facebook, Messages, and more, Badger rather brings a list of notifications to iOS application icons.
To access these lists, users simply perform a gesture on an app icon. The updated Badger then reveals a redesigned iOS 7-inspired notification list, and users can either clear notifications or touch a specific item to open it in the relevant app.
There's also the option to quick reply to SMS messages and iMessages, too, biteSMS-style.
You can alter the appearance of the jailbreak tweak, and blur, darkness, and animations are all available to adjust. You can also choose to access app-specific notifications with either a swipe or a double-tap, and the app supports pull-to-refresh, too.
There's been some debate in the past, however, as to whether Badger is a jailbreak tweak worth downloading. As Dom Esposito rightly concluded:
Like I said, this is a very simple tweak. Almost too simple for the hype and anticipation built up prior to its release, but it does offer exactly what the developers set out to accomplish.
He put together a video of Badger, too, which we've embedded below.
If you like the sound of the package, the updated Badger can be downloaded on the Cydia Store for $1.49, and it's optimized for iOS 7 and ARM64-devices. How do you like the package – is it worthy of a place on your iOS device?http://youtube.com/watch?v=oBAowyOooVA
