Facebook Messenger 4.0 Features Easy Group Creation And Message Forwarding
March 28, 2014
Facebook has just updated Facebook Messenger, its messaging-focused app, to version 4.0 on iOS.
Facebook Messenger 4.0 introduces a couple of significant new features: groups and forwarding.
Now, you can create groups for the people you send messages to most frequently. Just go to the new Groups tab and start a new group by naming it, setting a group photo, and selecting the group members.
You can have groups for your family, roommates, work buddies, or weekend crew. In any case, you can quickly access all of your groups in one place. You can also pin groups to get back to them easily.
You can now also easily forward messages in Facebook Messenger. "Want to send a message or photo to someone who isn't in the conversation?" Facebook asks in the update's release notes. "Just tap to forward it."
Also including speed and reliability improvements, the new version of Facebook Messenger is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later.
Facebook Messenger was updated to version 3.0 with a new design for iOS 7 last November.
