Google Updates YouTube For iOS With Playlist And Commenting Enhancements
March 18, 2014
Google has just issued another update to the official iOS app of YouTube.
Most notably, the latest update to YouTube for iOS brings several improvements to the app's support for playlists. Now, you can like playlists and quickly access your favorite playlists from the app's sidebar, aka the Guide. You can now also share playlists via Google+, Twitter, Facebook, email, text, or clipboard.
The update also delivers improvements to commenting. Now, you can reply to comments, aside from liking or reporting them. You can now also delete your own comments right within the app. Furthermore, you can now see if a comment was shared privately or publicly.
The new version of YouTube for iOS is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later.
Last January, Google updated YouTube for iOS with iOS 7 keyboard and other improvements, including sidebar translucency and background blurring. It was also supposed to have been updated with two sets of other enhancements, but one (the ability to find videos, playlists, and channels together in the search results) turned out to have long been present while the other (formatting, positioning, and user settings for captions or subtitles) was apparently missing altogether.
