LifePrint Is A Wireless, Portable Printer Designed For The iPhone Generation

March 19, 2014
While I enjoy taking photos with my iPhone, I rarely do anything with those memories. But a new Kickstarter project is looking to change that. LifePrint is a wireless companion for an iPhone that allows users to print images from anywhere. Using the device is really simple. After taking a photo, open up the companion app, and then print. Here’s a quick video about the project. Click here if you can’t see it. The printer can be at your desk at home, and even if you’re on vacation, the image will still print. Users don’t even need to be connected to a Wi-Fi signal, all they need is a 3G data connection or better. If you want to take the printer with you, it can print around 30 photos on a single charge. And the system also comes packed with a number of social features. Users can share images with other LifePrint users around the world. Users can also “follow” specific users and receive prints of their images. With 36 days left to go in the funding campaign, more than $36,000 has been pledged on a goal of $200,000. Right now, you can pledge $99 and receive either a black or white LifePrint and 10 pieces of film. Additional film will be able to order and should cost around $20 for 30 prints. Beware that if you pledge, you’ll need to be extra patient. The iPhone version of the printer is estimated to ship in January 2015. That’s a long time to wait, but LifePrint certainly looks like an interesting companion for an iPhone.
