MLB.com At The Ballpark 3.0 Features iBeacon Support And iOS 7 Redesign

As reported a couple of months ago, Major League Baseball (MLB) had installed iBeacons in 20 ballparks in the U.S. in order to offer iDevice-toting spectators ballpark point-of-interest mapping and other relevant information during the 2014 MLB season. Now, MLB.com At the Ballpark, the official ballpark companion app of MLB, has been updated to version 3.0 with support for the iBeacons.
Beginning opening day, March 31, fans can use MLB.com At the Ballpark 3.0 to check in automatically and view special offers at the following ballparks with iBeacon technology:
Chase Field (Arizona), Turner Field (Atlanta), Oriole Park @ Camden Yards (Baltimore), Fenway Park (Boston), U.S. Cellular Field (Chicago), Great American Ball Park (Cincinnati), Progressive Field (Cleveland), Kauffman Stadium (Kansas City), Dodger Stadium (Los Angeles), Miller Park (Milwaukee), Target Field (Minnesota), Citi Field (New York), O.co Coliseum (Oakland), Citizens Bank Park (Philadelphia), Petco Park (San Diego), AT&T Park (San Francisco), Safeco Field (Seattle), Busch Stadium (St. Louis), Tropicana Field (Tampa Bay) and Globe Life Park (Texas)MLB.com At the Ballpark 3.0 is available now in the App Store for free. It's optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later.
