Squash Your Enemies In Bug Heroes 2's New Tower Defense Mode

The folks at Foursaken Media have published a big update for the $1.99 Bug Heroes 2. Chief among the changes made is a brand new tower defense-style game mode that comes with a new campaign, a new hero, and a new power system. But a number of further improvements have also been made to the universal iOS game, too.

Be assured, this is no termite-sized update: instead, the recently launched “Turret Defense” mode adds a whole new dimension to the popular two-month-old game. Foursaken Media explains in the app’s release notes that this campaign also brings more than 20 additional missions to application.

However, that’s not all the developer has added to Bug Heroes 2. Following feedback from iOS gamers, many higher star missions are now easier to get through, and problems with multiplayer – among other tweaks – have also been made to the application.

As outlined in the app’s release notes, here’s a list of what’s new in version 1.2:

Added a new turret: Laser!

Many higher star missions made easier

Balanced turret upgrade prices

Balanced stun scroll effect on high rate of fire heroes

Fly Bandito and Army Ant Cavalry abilities have unit caps

Sniper Turret bullets move much faster, but they no longer target heroes in versus mode

Revamped mission system to allow many more mission choices and options at once

Fixed an issue with versus local multiplayer

Miscellaneous bug fixes

As a reminder, Bug Heroes 2 first launched on the App Store back in February, some three years since the original app – Bug Heroes – initially appeared for iOS devices. The “buggy” game offers iOS users MOBA-like competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes and 25 bug heroes to level up.

In fact, Bug Heroes 2 impressed us so much it even received an “honorable mention” in our AppAdvice Game Of The Week column for Feb. 28, 2014.

Thanks to its most recent update, however, Bug Heroes 2 is now better than ever. If you haven’t already, be sure to take the app for a spin – as mentioned, it’s available for $1.99 and is optimized for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
