OpenTable Update Brings UI Tweaks For iPad And New Payment Settings For iPhone
June 10, 2014
OpenTable, the official iOS app of the popular restaurant reservation service of the same name, has just received a notable update.
In the main, the latest update to OpenTable delivers several UI enhancements to the universal app's iPad edition.
OpenTable for iPad now features a grid view for browsing restaurants by top dish photos, allowing you to see more mouthwatering images at a glance. It also features restaurant profiles that have been redesigned with full-screen content, popular dishes, and review breakdowns.
Moreoever, OpenTable for iPad now includes a streamlined search bar for finding restaurants or locations, plus a left side menu for quick access to upcoming reservations.
And for OpenTable for iPhone, the update adds new settings for paying with OpenTable in select cities (OpenTable is available in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico). These include options for tipping on the subtotal or total and for enabling push or text notifications.
The new version of OpenTable is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later.
Released way back in November 2008 as an app optimized for iPhone and iPod touch only, OpenTable went universal for iPad in May last year. It was redesigned for iOS 7 on the day of the launch of the operating system itself in September.
