Rovio And Hasbro Introduce Autobirds And Deceptihogs In Angry Birds Transformers

Rovio is about to "transform" its mightily popular Angry Birds brand yet again into something big and out of this world. After its successful partnership with LucasArts' "Star Wars" brand on two Angry Birds Star Wars games, Rovio has announced that it's pairing up with Hasbro's "Transformers" brand for Angry Birds Transformers. That's right: Rovio's feathered fiends and their fat foes are up for a mash-up with Hasbro's transforming alien robots. The result: the arrival of the Autobirds and the Deceptihogs. The two birdie and piggy robot factions (featured in the promotional artwork above) are set to be rolled out in various Angry Birds Transformers products, including a mobile game, consumers goods, and more. Notably, the upcoming Angry Birds Transformers product line includes Hasbro's Telepods figures, enabling fans to teleport their favorite Angry Birds Transformers characters into the game and unlock special powers. Telepods are already featured by Rovio in Angry Birds Star Wars, Angry Birds Go!, and the upcoming Angry Birds Stella. Details of the upcoming Angry Birds Transformers products, particularly the mobile game, are scarce at the moment. But Rovio and Hasbro promise to provide more information in the coming weeks.
