Popular navigation app Google Maps has added a number of new features with the move to version 3.2.
First up, search results in the app have been greatly improved. Users can choose to view the information directly on the map, with descriptions, to help make a quick decision. If so desired, the results can also be viewed on a simple list. It is easy to toggle between the two.
Adding even tighter integration with Gmail, reservations and appointments from emails can be labeled directly on the map.
Finally, Google has added the new Explore local guide. It shows different places and activities depending on the location and time of day.
A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Google Maps can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
Before today’s update, the last major version of the app arrived in May. Version 3.0 brought lane guidance support, Uber integration, and other improvements.
