Skype for iPhone updated with photo saving and deletion, faster chat loading and more
Microsoft has just issued another major update to the official iOS app of its popular Skype VoIP and IM service.
According to the Skype team, the latest update to Skype for iPhone incorporates several features that have been highly requested by the app’s users.
No doubt the most notable among these is the ability to save and delete a photo from a conversation. To do either, just press and hold on an image in a chat until the contextual menu appears, whereupon you can select the option for saving the photo to your camera roll or deleting the photo from the chat.
The new version of Skype for iPhone also boasts faster chat loading after tapping a new message notification and features the display of all avatars for groups and people in chats.
Finally, the update offers quicker access to the search and filter options for the people list in Skype for iPhone.
The app was updated a couple of weeks ago with native resolution support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, along with other improvements.
Skype for iPad is also available on the App Store for free.
Just yesterday, Skype for Mac was updated with support for OS X Yosemite. And earlier this month, Skype launched the Snapchat-like app Skype Qik to supplement its video calling service.
