This week in accessories: Night Cable from Native Union and more

October 31, 2014

Welcome back, and Happy Halloween! In our weekly look at some of the newest iOS device accessories to hit the market, we’re featuring two perfect cases for the new iPad Air 2 and more.

Night Cable from Native Union

A perfect solution for home charging, the Night Cable is almost 10 feet long and solves a problem pretty much everyone has had at one time – dropped cables. A weighted knot anchors the cable on any flat surface so it will always be there when you need it. With a braided exterior, the cable is also tangle free.

The Night Cable is available in three different color choices – zebra, red, or blue. It retails for $39.99 and can be purchased on Native Union’s site now.

Flat Vernacular Case for the iPad Air 2 or iPad Air from DODOCase

DODOCase is teaming up with popular Brooklyn-based design team Flat Vernacular for a new line of cases for the iPad Air and iPad Air 2. Available in three different unique designs, each case is handmade and is designed to look like a regular book.

The original DODOCase is $74.95 while the new multi-angle model will set you back $89.95. Both can be ordered now from the company’s site. You’ll have to wait three to four weeks for the iPad Air 2 version. A case for the first-generation Air will ship in five to seven days.

Kim Parker Aegis Design Case for the iPhone 6 from Trident

Internationally known artist Kim Parker has designed a new pair of iPhone 6 cases for Trident. The Aegis case offers two layers of protection – a hard outer shell and a softer inner layer made from shock-absorbing silicone. Trident also includes a screen protector, if desired. The plastic in the case is green friendly and is recyclable, degradable, or even compostable.

The case costs $34.95 and can be ordered from the company’s site now. Buyers can choose from two different designs – the pictured black case with an India garden theme or a white case with petunias.

Icon Wireless Over-Ear Headphones from A-Audio

If you’re looking for a high-end headphone option not named Beats, A-Audio has just introduced its new Icon. The over-ear headphones connect to an iOS device via wireless Bluetooth 4.0 technology, and the built-in battery offers up to 12 hours of music playback on a single charge. It can also be used with the included cord offering a microphone and remote. Listeners can take advantage of three-stage listening technology with a bass enhancer, active noise cancellation, or audio mode.

Buyers can preorder the Icon now for $379. It will ship in December. Buyers can select from a chrome or black version.

Slim Style for the iPad Air 2 and iPad Air from Belkin

A folio case that can fit both the iPad Air 2 and iPad Air, the Slim Style is a thin and light choice to protect your tablet. Made with water repellent material that easily wipes clean, it provides access to the camera, all buttons, and ports. The case can also place your iPad into both a typing and media-viewing angle.

Available in three different color combinations, the Slim Style can be ordered now from Belkin’s site for $49.99.

ShoePouch for the Misift Shine and Flash from Griffin

Yes, there are even accessories for an accessory. Griffin has just unveiled a ShoePouch for the Misift Shine or Flash fitness tracker. As the name suggests, you can place the tracker inside the pouch and slip it under a shoe’s laces or threaded in for extra security. A reflective trim helps make runners more visible in low-light situations.
