Apple's Maps has at least 10 new business listing information providers

November 20, 2014

Apple has apparently partnered with more business listing information providers for its Maps service.

The additional providers have been confirmed by Apple in an email to Apple Maps Marketing (via 9to5Mac), in response to the latter’s inquiry on submitting information about a client with only a few hundred locations.

According to the email, Apple is currently accepting bulk submissions from businesses with at least 1,000 locations. For businesses with fewer than 1,000 locations, it suggests using the services of the following companies that provide Apple Maps with business listing information: DAC Group, Factual, Location3 Media, Marquette Group, Neustar/Localeze, Placeable, PositionTech, SIM Partners, SinglePlatform, UBL, Yelp, Yext, and Yodle.

With the exception of Factual, Neustar/Localeze, and Yelp, which have been known to provide Maps data, the aforementioned companies are yet to appear on the list of Apple’s map data attributions, suggesting that they, and perhaps others as well, have partnered with Apple just recently.

In any case, Apple has been continually working to enhance its Maps service offerings.

A month ago, it launched a new website called Apple Maps Connect, enabling users to add or edit local business listings for Maps. And in July, it was reported that Apple had been contacting business owners to resolve issues concerning incorrect information as flagged by users of the mapping service.
