Neato allows you to save a note in Dropbox or Evernote directly from a Notification Center widget

Notification Center widgets have definitely been one of my favorite new features in iOS 8. And developers are continuing to come up with interesting uses for the space.

A new app, Neato, allows a user to quickly and easily enter and save a note with a handy widget. After entering a note, it can be saved directly to an Evernote account or your Dropbox folder.

It can also be emailed, sent via Twitter, or iMessage.

For quick notes, Neato is really a handy tool. I’ve played around with it for just a few minutes, but I’ll definitely be keeping it in my already crowded Notification Center.

While the keyboard is smaller than normal because it’s a widget, I was able to jot down a few notes very quickly.

Designed for the iPhone/iPod touch, Neato can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

Late last month, Apple caused some controversy by asking PCalc developer James Thomson to remove the calculator widget from his app. But Apple quickly reversed course for a unknown reason and is allowing the app to remain in the store as-is.
