Square Enix soft-launches new tactical RPG Heavenstrike Rivals for iOS
Square Enix, the Japanese game developer behind the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series, has just soft-launched a new iOS game called Heavenstrike Rivals.
Heavenstrike Rivals is a free-to-play tactical role-playing game set in a war-torn world:
The once-prosperous aerial kingdom of Lunnain lies in tatters, assaulted from above by the Fallen – ruthless monsters of nightmare who seek only complete destruction. But the people will not take their fate lying down, and their strike back at the heavens starts now!
Boasting a battle system said to have been designed especially for mobile, Heavenstrike Rivals challenges you to engage in player-versus-player combat with various collectible characters. It also dares you to climb the Sacred League and participate in special events and weekend arena competitions.

Heavenstrike Rivals notably features characters designed by Ryoma Ito and music by Ryo Yamazaki. Ito and Yamazaki has previously worked with Square Enix on Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, respectively.
