Popular human-narrated news app Umano now optimized for Apple's CarPlay
Umano, the popular news app that offers stories narrated by real people rather than mere bots, has just received a small yet significant update.
What makes the update significant is that it adds support for CarPlay, Apple’s Siri-integrated automobile dashboard technology. As a result, you can now access Umano right from your CarPlay-enabled car’s dashboard and listen to Umano’s human-narrated news stories right from your car’s speakers while you’re on the move.
Umano is the latest third-party app to be optimized for Apple’s CarPlay, joining the likes of Spotify, Rdio, iHeartRadio, Stitcher, CBS Radio News, and Overcast.
In addition to CarPlay support, the latest update to Umano delivers various bug fixes and offers access to the Popular tab for viewing popular publisher and user profiles.
User profiles were introduced to Umano through its 5.0 update last month, which also added support for interactive notifications and a Today widget in iOS 8 and display optimizations for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later, Umano is available on the App Store for free, with in-app purchases offered for unlocking Umano Premium.
