CES 2015: LifeProof’s new iPhone 6 case, the Fre Power, might just be the ultimate accessory
It’s been almost four months since the iPhone 6 hit the market. And LifeProof’s just announced Fre Power might be the best accessory I’ve yet to see for the handset.
The company is well-known for its line of waterproof cases for iOS devices. But the new option ups the ante by adding a 2,600 mAH backup cell to the mix, which doubles the battery power of the handset.
Like other cases from the company, the Fre Power is waterproof to 6.6 feet for one hour and will protect the handset from most drops. Unfortunately, LifeProof didn’t announce the retail price of the case during CES 2015 in Las Vegas. On its site, the case is only listed as coming sometime this year.
I’ll definitely be waiting. And we’ll make sure to let you know when we get any additional information about the Fre Power.
LifeProof’s parent company, OtterBox, has also announced its Resurgence case for the iPhone 6 during the show. Retailing for $99.99 and available in four different colors, the case contains a 2,600 mAH battery as well. It’s listed as coming soon on the company’s site.
The battery case options don’t stop there. As we reported yesterday, Mophie has unveiled its new line of Juice Packs for both the iPhone 6 and larger iPhone 6 Plus.
If you can’t be patient, and want to purchase a battery case right now, Incipio’s OffGrid Express is currently available to order. Offered in black, it’s a simple snap-on bumper that brings an extra 3,000 mAH battery to the iPhone 6. It retails for $79.99.
