Microsoft’s Skype has just updated the official iPhone app of its popular VoIP service with a couple of notable UI improvements. In addition, it has announced its new prerelease program for Skype for iOS.

The latest update to Skype for iPhone makes it quicker and easier to call people, thanks to certain tweaks applied to the app’s dial pad and chat picker.

In the new version of the app, you can search for contacts faster since the app now suggests contacts with matching phone numbers once you start typing a phone number in the dial pad. You can also call people and groups more quickly by tapping the phone or video icon after selecting your desired contacts in the updated chat picker.
