Announced just a couple of weeks ago, Mean Girls: The Game is out now on iOS. It is, of course, based on “Mean Girls,” the teen comedy film centered on a female high school social clique whose members are played by Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried.
You might be wondering why a game based on a movie released in 2004 has come out just now. Well, a cult film is never too old to be adapted into an iOS game, especially considering that the official iOS game of the 1987 fantasy rom-com “The Princess Bride” was released just three weeks ago.
Mean Girls is a so-called “tiara defense” game, a tower defense title that has the original clique from the film fighting off a new clique from piecing together the Spring Fling Tiara and taking control of North Shore High School.
If you’re not a fan of the movie, you’ll find in Mean Girls an interesting tower defense game that just so happens to be inspired by a teen comedy.
If you’re a fan of the movie (like me), then you’re in for a treat. Not only will you be playing a more than decent tower defense game, you’ll also be reliving various moments, quotes, and more from “Mean Girls.” Now, that’s so fetch!

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Mean Girls: The Game is available now on the App Store for $3.99, with in-app purchases offered for unlocking additional content.
In addition to the official iOS games of “Mean Girls” and “The Princess Bride,” another notable new iOS game based on a not-so-new comedy film has been released this month. I’m referring to Hot Tub Time Machine: Tap That, which is based on the 2010 sci-fi adventure comedy film “Hot Tub Time Machine,” whose sequel is set to hit theaters next month.
