What do “The Princess Bride” and “Hot Tub Time Machine” have in common? It might be a little hard to guess, but both movies now have official iOS games on the App Store.

The Princess Bride landed last week, but Hot Tub Time Machine: Tap That has just arrived.

As you can probably guess, the latest game is a tie-in to the hysterical 2010 comedy starring John Cusack, Clark Duke, and Craig Robinson. The sequel, “Hot Tub Time Machine 2,” will hit theaters next month.

So in the game, players get to join the crew and find raunchy clues to solve crazy puzzles, traveling across different times, including the 1980s, 1960s, and even the Neanderthal era. It will also feature content from the sequel.

A universal title designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Hot Tub Time Machine: Tap That can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. As no surprise, there are a number of in-app purchases available.

I was a big fan of the original film, so I’m looking forward to playing the game. Hopefully it will live up to the movie’s name.

And if you’re haven’t had enough movie tie-in games, we’ve got some great news for you. As we reported earlier today, a “Mean Girls” game is in the works. Called a “tiara defense” title, it will show off characters, lines, locations, and other elements from the 2004 film.
