Facebook's Snapchat-like Slingshot gets new 'Explore' mode
Slingshot, the Facebook-developed Snapchat alternative, has received a new feature as of its latest update. Now, users of the application can access an “Explore” mode in Slingshot, allowing iOS device owners to seek out “funny, inspiring and creative people” from around the world to follow.
The Explore mode can be accessed using a new button which appears at the top of the application. After touching this, iOS device owners will be presented with thumbnails of trending videos which Slingshot users (dare we say Slingshotters?) have posted to the social network.
Facebook explains:
Introducing Explore — Swipe through shots from popular people around the world! It’s a great way to discover funny, inspiring and creative people to follow.
First launched in 2014, Slingshot allows users of the application to send ephemeral images and video (dubbed “shots”) to one another. It received a major update back in December adding quicker shooting and sharing options, filters, drawings, and emojis, 24-hour limits on shots, and more.
Then, following this, improvements to friend-finding subsequently made it to Slingshot, as well as countless bug fixes.
You can pick up the recently updated Slingshot on the App Store free of charge.
