Do more in less time with IFTTT's Do Button and Do Note apps for Apple Watch

If you're getting an Apple Watch, make sure you check out what the popular conditional action automation service IFTTT (short for “If this, then that”) has in store for your wrist.

IFTTT is set to soon update two of its Do-it-yourself apps with support for Apple's highly anticipated smart watch. Do Button and Do Note are about to get companion apps for the Apple Watch to enable you to do more in less time.

Do Button lets you activate your Recipes (i.e., your predefined automated tasks) and control Channels (e.g. Nest Thermostat and Philips Hue) with just a tap of a button. And with Do Button for Apple Watch, you can easily run your favorite Recipes for your favorite Channels with a simple button tap right on your wrist. This allows you to just tap your Apple Watch to, say, adjust your Nest thermostat to 70 degrees or toggle your Philips Hue lights.

As for Do Note, it offers one-tap saving and sharing of notes to Evernote, Google Calendar, and other services. Its Apple Watch app lets you dictate your request to your wrist and tap to run your command. You can, for example, quickly create a note in Evernote or an event in Google Calendar.

Effectively, IFTTT's Do Button and Do Note apps for Apple Watch enable you to use various services, devices, and apps, even if they themselves don't actually support the Apple Watch. So long as you properly set up Recipes for your desired Channels, connecting with your favorite services, devices, and apps is just a turn of and a tap on your wrist away.

Do Button and Do Note were launched for iPhone last February along with another Do-it-yourself app, Do Camera, which features one-tap sharing of snapshots to Facebook, Dropbox, and other services.

In addition to Apple Watch support for Do Button and Do Note, universal support for iPad is set to arrive soon for all three of IFTTT's Do apps.

Do Button, Do Note, and Do Camera are all free to download from the App Store.

IFTTT's main automation app for iPhone and iPad, simply called If, is also available for free on the App Store.
