Tavern Brawl mode is heading to Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft
It’s time to get rough and rowdy in the popular card battle game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.
Developer Blizzard has recently announced that a new Tavern Brawl mode will soon be arriving. You’ll need a level 20 hero to participate, but it sounds like a lot of fun. You’ll take on another random player or a friend in head-to-head battle using exciting and unique rules:
One week might feature preset decks, while another week could have you crafting a brand new Tavern Brawl deck following specific guidelines, while others might offer buffs to specific minion types—who knows!
The new mode will be available on the main screen of the app below the Play, Solo Adventures, and Arena buttons. Tavern Brawls will offer free admission. As part of the launch, players can earn a free card pack when they win their first game.
And along with two new heroes available to purchase, the update will also allow users to even further customize their cards. In the new Collection Manager portion of the app, gamers can select a different card back for each deck.
All of the new features should arrive with version 2.7 of the app sometime in mid-June.
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is a universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. As usual, with this type of game, there are a number of in-app purchases available for other cards packs and expansion packs.
The game, which was named as one of our best free iPad apps of 2014, finally arrived for the iPhone in April. An update in May brought full support for 64-bit iOS devices and added a pair of new card backs into the mix.
