Pebble looks to battle Apple Watch with its new Time Round
Smartwatch pioneer Pebble has come full circle. Just months after introducing its Pebble Time, the company has just unveiled the Time Round featuring a circular display.
Much like the Time, the new round watch features an always-on color e-ink display and is designed to show you notifications, incoming calls, and more. Weighing in at 28 grams and measuring 7.5mm, Pebble says its the “thinnest and lightest smartwatch in the world.” For comparison, the Apple Watch measures 10.5mm.
According to the company, the battery will last for around two days before needing to be recharged, and just 15 minutes on a charger will give you a day’s worth of use. It is also splash resistant, but not completely waterproof like previous Pebble models.

The Time Round retails for $249 and can be reserved starting today on Pebble’s site, Best Buy, Target, and Amazon.com. Watches will starting shipping and be available at retailers in early November.
If you ordered the Pebble Time Steel on Kickstarter, Pebble is offering a discount and trial plan. Complete information can be found here.
While it’s not exactly a Pebble phone, the Time Round does give iPhone users another option besides the Apple Watch. Even though you can now use Android Wear devices with an iPhone, it’s extremely limited.
