Apple brings Personal Pickup to UK, posts Guided Tour for Apple Pay

November 21, 2015

At long last, Apple’s Personal Pickup service has crossed the pond.

Indeed, as reported by MacRumors, Apple’s in-store pickup option has made its way from the U.S., where it’s been available since 2011, to the U.K.

As a result, customers in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland can now purchase products from Apple’s online store on the Web or through the official Apple Store app on iOS, and opt to pick up their orders at an Apple retail store of their choosing, rather than having the items delivered to their addresses. They just have to select the pickup option instead of delivery during checkout.

Items reserved for Personal Pickup are usually prepared and made ready for collection within an hour. If an item is not available for immediate pickup, it will be delivered to the chosen Apple retail store with an estimated delivery date provided so that the customer knows when to expect to get it.

The expansion of Personal Pickup into the U.K. comes just a few days after its arrival in Canada and Australia. Incidentally, the service is now available in countries where Apple Pay is also available.

First launched in October last year in the U.S., Apple’s mobile payment service was launched in the U.K. in July this year and in Canada and Australia earlier this week.

Apple is expected to further expand Personal Pickup into France soon, but there’s no word yet on whether the country is set to get Apple Pay as well.

Speaking of Apple Pay, Apple has just posted a Guided Tour walkthrough video showing how to use its mobile payment service on iPhone. Check it out:
