Puzzle Quest, the match-three puzzler and RPG hybrid published by D3 Go, has been so popular that it has led to franchise crossovers with the likes of Marvel, resulting in Marvel Puzzle Quest, and Cartoon Network, resulting in Adventure Time Puzzle Quest.
And now, there’s another high-profile franchise that has gotten the Puzzle Quest treatment: Wizards of the Coast’s Magic: The Gathering trading card game, resulting in Magic: The Gathering – Puzzle Quest, which has just materialized on iOS.
Developed by Hibernum Creations, Magic: The Gathering – Puzzle Quest combines the lore-intensive strategy of the former franchise and the tried-and-tested match-three RPG gameplay of the latter.
In true Puzzle Quest fashion, you have to make matches in the game. But this time, doing so effectively casts spells against various enemies across the Magic: The Gathering Multiverse.
You can play as your favorite Planeswalker and engage in singl-player matches, or challenge other players in PvP combat, where you can build a deck of cards from Magic: The Gathering with which to vanquish your rivals.
