Workflow, the smart app countless iOS device owners (including myself) use to get work done each and every day, is now better than ever thanks to the release of a brand new update.

In particular, two new actions are available inside the automation application: Get Latest Bursts, and Get Live Photos. These, as you’d expect, source the most recent bursts or iPhone 6s-generated Live Photos from the Photos application, and pass them into the next action in the workflow. You might want to share your latest bursts using the iOS sharing menu, or save Live Photos to a dedicated folder inside of Dropbox. This can now more easily be done in the latest version of Workflow, which can be downloaded now on the App Store.

Improved GIF support

Whether you say it with a hard or soft “g,” improved GIF support is nevertheless something Workflow’s user base will love. Because iOS fans can now pass bursts or Live Photos into the Make GIF action in order to create looping GIFs right on their iOS device. Plus, the developer behind Workflow now also allows users to pass as many images into the Make GIF action as they like, allowing for more lengthy GIFs to be generated effortlessly inside of Workflow for iOS.

Workflow 1.4.3 lets you use Bursts and Live Photos in your workflows, and includes a bunch of other improvements! On behalf of the entire Workflow team, we wish you a happy holiday season full of merry automation.

Workflow is arguably one of the very best apps available on iOS, and it was deservingly awarded the title of “most innovative” application for Apple’s 2015 pick. We’ve been covering Workflow since it first launched on iOS, and countless updates from the app’s developer have made the software more robust, more fully featured, and more usable over the past year.

Aside from the aforementioned features, Workflow 1.4.3 also brings a couple of fixes for iCloud Drive and iOS 8, and it also eliminates a number of bugs from the application.

You can download Workflow on the App Store for $2.99, and it’s optimized for the iPhone/iPod touch, iPad, and Apple Watch. There’s also a great user community for the app at workflow.is/community, where new workflows and problems can be discussed in depth.
