Nickelodeon has just released another iOS game that ties in with its hit animated series “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (“TMNT” for short), featuring, of course, the popular title characters. And the new game is called TMNT: Portal Power.

What’s in a name?

TMNT: Portal Power is essentially a street fighting game, with the sort of basic gameplay which the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are definitely no stranger to.

But TMNT: Portal Power is so called because it has you helping the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as they travel through portals across five worlds and dimensions to fight the bad guys. Baddies in the game include the usual suspects — the Foot Clan, Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteddy, and the Kraang — and other villains classic and new.

What’s in the game?

By means of simple swipe controls, TMNT: Portal Power lets you engage in street fights as Leo, Raph, Mikey, and Donnie. Note that the operative word in the previous sentence is and. The game lets you control each Ninja Turtle, sure, but it also lets you control all four Ninja Turtles in group combat to unleash powerful attacks.

You can also collect out-of-this-world costumes to power up and unlock more levels and ninja moves.

TMNT: Portal Power also features official voices and animation from the makers of Nick’s “TMNT” series themselves.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 8.0 or later, TMNT: Portal Power is available now on the App Store for $5.99.
