Noodlecake's Upcoming Game Invert Will Push You to Ever-Greater Puzzle Mastery
Trevor Sheridan spent last week at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco to learn more about some amazing mobile titles coming your way from developers like Noodlecake Studios, including the upcoming Invert.
The developer’s upcoming minimalist puzzle game, Invert, tasks players with something that seems simple at first: flip the tiles in a grid to make everything one color. Tapping the dots on any outside row flips the tiles to the opposite color. Sometimes you’ll want to make everything light, but other times you’ll want to make it all dark – think outside the box, so to speak.
As you can see in the demo video above, things get harder and harder the more you dig into the game.
The game itself will come with 20 level packs, each with eight levels that will let you use your best puzzle-solving skills. Getting three stars per level will require flipping all the tiles in a minimum number of moves. As with any good puzzler, you’ll learn as you go, with a new concept introduced in each level. There’s a speed mode for you braniacs, too, so you can brag about just how fast you solved that one crazy hard level.
If you’re a big fan of Rubik’s Cube-type puzzles, Invert should fire your engines when it comes out in about a month as a premium download from the App Store.
