Pixelbite Studios took a few minutes at the Game Developers Conference this past week with AppAdvice’s Trevor Sheridan to show off the indie developer’s latest car-smashing game, Reckless Getaway 2.

The team is back at it again with an upcoming sequel to Reckless Getaway, a smash-em-up automobile derby game that puts you in the role of a criminal trying their best to escape the police. Just like in the first title, you’ll need to weave in and out of traffic, dodge (or smash into) the cops that are chasing you down, or, at a bare minimum, crash into any and everything in your way.

Launching sometime in April, Reckless Getaway 2 should be more open world than the original, letting you drive all the way around the game world as if it were a globe. The point is to survive as long as possible while grabbing as many points as possible from your destructive path. The developer promises five different worlds at launch with special events included. Avoid the cops while you crush everything in your path with unlockable cars for each map. Grab a roadster, a golf car, or a fork lift and see how each environment reacts to your devastating force in each different mode.

If you’re into over-the-top, silly action, Reckless Getaway 2 promises to be your new jam when it comes out “sometime in April,” according to the developer.
