Adobe Lightroom for iOS Update Brings a Pressure Sensitive Brush Selection Tool

The powerful and popular Adobe Lightroom image editing app has just been updated with a number of new features for both the iPhone and iPad.

With the update, users can now selectively erase both linear and radial gradients, which is a big plus.

The biggest addition in version 2.8 of the software is a new brush selection tool. That allows users to apply edits including exposure, brightness, and clarity, to specific parts of a photo. Any iPad Pro user with an Apple Pencil or anyone with a 3D Touch-enabled iPhone can vary the effect by pressing harder or softer.

Anyone with an iPad will also notice a redesigned UI on the larger screen of the tablet.

Another notable improvement in both versions is the ability include direct control to adjust noise reduction and sharpening.

There are two different apps to download on the App Store – Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for iPhone and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for iPad. Both are free.

While both apps can be used on iOS devices, a number of features – including the ability to sync photos across devices – requires a subscription to Adobe’s Creative Cloud. That starts at $9.99 per month.
