Animoji, Animated Emoji, Come With Your iPhone X
Among the new features included with the newly-announced iPhone X, owners of the premium handset will also be able to use custom three-dimensional animated emoji. These Animoji were first unearthed by developer Steve Troughton-Smith, and Apple detailed them in its September 12 “Let’s meet at our place” event in the Steve Jobs Theater on Apple Park Campus.
All About the New Animoji
The Animoji utilize the iPhone 8’s three-dimensional sensing camera to show a range of expressions that include raised eyebrows, squinting cheeks, blinking eyes, mouth movements, and more. In fact, more than 50 muscle movements are detected and utilized for the Animoji. There is global detection for sad and happy faces, and all of that rolls into the expressions depicted by the Animoji.
Several Animoji are available for customization, including a chimpanzee, robot, pig, cat, chicken, dog, fox, poop, and several others. There’s even an animated unicorn.
