Report: First 1 Million Apple HomePod Units Sent From Key Supplier
Siri’s about to get a little bit louder. The Taipei Times reports the first 1 million Apple HomePod units have been shipped.
First announced in June 2017, the Siri-based Apple HomePod smart speaker was supposed to launch in December. In November, Apple announced a delay until “early 2018.”
Inventec and Hon Hai Precision Industry are the first two suppliers for the $349 Apple HomePod.
The report explains:
HomePod shipments this year are expected to reach between 10 million and 12 million units, with Inventec and Hon Hai each fulfilling half of the orders, the source said.
On Jan. 8, GHB Insights said the Apple HomePod release would occur in “in the next 4-6 weeks.”
